Frequently asked questions
What is the best bike for a beginner?+
Start with where you will ride. For streets, bike paths and fitness, the Daily Ride and Comfort Plus hybrids are among the easiest bikes in our range to ride confidently. For dirt trails and forest roads, the Trail 100 is designed as an introduction to mountain biking. For road riding, the Endurance has a taller front end and shorter reach than the Race Elite and Aero Pro, so the position is more relaxed.
Are single-speed bikes good for beginners?+
If you already know how to ride a bike, yes: with no gears to manage, the Minimal and Single X are particularly simple to operate. If you are new to fixed-gear riding, ride the freewheel side where fitted and learn fixed technique gradually somewhere safe and away from traffic.
Which BMX is best for learning tricks?+
The Freestyle is built for everyone from beginners to experienced riders, on the street, at the skatepark and on dirt jumps. The Park Rider’s balanced geometry makes learning jumps and manuals easier, the Trickster is approachable for beginners with plenty of room to progress, the Dirt Jump’s stable geometry is approachable on pump tracks and jump lines, and the BMX Race suits beginners entering local races.
What about children learning to ride?+
See Kids bikes. Start with the Balance Bike to learn steering and balance, then move to a pedal bike sized by wheel: the Kids 12 comes with removable training wheels, followed by the Kids 16 and the geared Kids 20.
