Frequently asked questions
What size BMX bike do I need?+
BMX sizing is based on top tube length matched to rider height rather than a frame size in centimetres. Each product page lists the rider height range for every size; if you are between sizes, a shorter top tube is more manoeuvrable for tricks and a longer one is more stable at speed.
What is the difference between a race BMX and a freestyle BMX?+
Race BMX bikes are built for acceleration on a track: lightweight aluminium frames, larger gearing and V-brakes. Freestyle BMX bikes use heavier chromoly frames, smaller gearing, sealed hubs and peg-compatible axles so they can take repeated impacts from tricks, grinds and drops.
What is a freecoaster hub?+
A freecoaster lets the rear wheel roll backwards without turning the pedals, which makes fakies, half cabs and backward manuals far easier. A cassette hub instead engages instantly, which riders focused on jumps and pump tracks usually prefer.
Do BMX bikes come assembled?+
Every Ryden BMX arrives approximately 90% assembled. Final installation of the handlebars, front wheel, pedals and seat (plus pegs where included) is required before riding.
