Touring bikes
Bikes for long days and multi-day trips: gravel and adventure bikes for bikepacking and loaded touring, long-range electric touring bikes, and a folding touring bike that packs into a car or camper van.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a good touring bike?+
Stable, comfortable geometry for long hours in the saddle, a wide gear range for climbing with luggage, and a frame rated for you plus your gear. Check the maximum weight, which includes rider and cargo: the Expedition is rated to 140 kg, the highest of our gravel bikes, and is built for heavy, self-supported multi-week tours.
Gravel bike or electric touring bike?+
A gravel bike is lighter and simpler, with drop bars and a natural feel on mixed surfaces. An electric touring bike like the E-Tour adds long-range pedal assistance, an upright position and a 160 kg limit including rider and luggage, which makes hills and loaded panniers much easier.
What is the difference between bikepacking and touring?+
Bikepacking carries lighter loads in bags strapped to the frame, handlebars and seatpost, which suits rougher gravel routes. Traditional touring uses racks and panniers to carry more gear, usually on roads. Most of our gravel bikes are built for both.
Is there a touring bike that folds?+
Yes. The Ryden Travel is a folding touring bike built for long-distance and loaded riding with panniers, and it folds to travel in a car, RV or camper van.
