Warranty Policy

In this guide

1. Your statutory rights come first

The Ryden warranty described on this page is a commercial guarantee. It is in addition to — and never instead of — the rights you have under consumer law.

  • EU customers: under the Consumer Sales Directive 2019/771, you have a minimum 2-year statutory guarantee that the goods are in conformity with the contract. Some member states extend this. Remedies include repair, replacement, price reduction, or termination.
  • UK customers: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. Claims can be brought against the trader for up to 6 years in England/Wales and 5 years in Scotland.
  • US customers: the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and state law (notably California Song-Beverly) apply. Implied warranties of merchantability cannot be disclaimed for consumer goods.

2. Ryden warranty at a glance

Every product we sell carries a warranty covering manufacturing defects for a defined period, set out in the table below. The warranty starts the day the product is delivered. To claim:

  1. You must be the original purchaser.
  2. You must have your order number or invoice.
  3. The defect must be a manufacturing defect — not damage from a crash, normal wear, or misuse.

3. What's covered

  • Manufacturing defects — flaws in material, workmanship, or assembly that appear under normal use.
  • Structural failure of frames, forks, and load-bearing components, where the failure is not caused by impact or misuse.
  • Premature wear that's outside reasonable expectation for the product (e.g. a chain that stretches past tolerance in 50 km).
  • Electronics that fail under normal use within the warranty period.

4. What's not covered (under this warranty)

The following are excluded from the Ryden commercial warranty. Statutory remedies may still apply if the goods are not in conformity with the contract.

  • Wear and tear: brake pads, tyres, chains, cassettes, cables, bearings, grips, saddles, bar tape, sealant.
  • Crash, impact, or accident damage — even if the rider was not at fault.
  • Improper assembly by the customer or a third party, contrary to manufacturer instructions.
  • Modifications: components replaced or modified outside the manufacturer's specification (e.g. fitting non-tubeless tyres to tubeless-only rims).
  • Cosmetic damage from normal use (paint chips, decal wear, anodising marks).
  • Improper maintenance or failure to follow servicing intervals in the owner's manual.
  • Commercial use (rental, courier work, race team) unless a commercial warranty was sold with the product.
  • Acts of God — fire, flood, theft.

A failure that turns out to be misuse rather than a defect: we'll explain what we found, return the item if you'd like, and where possible offer a paid repair quote. We don't charge for the inspection itself.

5. Warranty periods by category

CategoryPeriodCovers
Bike frames (aluminium / carbon, non-suspension)5 yearsManufacturing defects in materials and welds
Bike frames (full-suspension)3 yearsManufacturing defects; pivot bearings excluded (wear item)
Forks (rigid)2 yearsManufacturing defects

Some manufacturers offer longer warranties than the table above. Where the manufacturer's warranty is more generous, it applies in full — see the product page.

6. How to file a claim

  1. Email [warranty@ryden.store] with: your order number, photos of the defect, a description of when and how you noticed it, and the bike/component serial number where applicable.
  2. We'll review within 3 business days and either approve the claim, request more information, or ask you to ship the item back for inspection.
  3. If approved before shipment, we'll send a free return label.
  4. Inspection takes up to 10 business days from when we receive the item. Sometimes the manufacturer needs to inspect, which extends this — we'll keep you posted.

7. Remedies

If your claim is approved, the remedy depends on the situation:

  • Repair — we fix the defect at no cost to you.
  • Replacement — we send an identical or equivalent product.
  • Refund or credit — if repair or replacement isn't possible (e.g. discontinued model). Pro-rated for items more than 12 months old where statutorily permitted.

EU/UK consumers may have additional or alternative statutory remedies, including price reduction or contract termination, depending on the severity of the non-conformity.

8. Transferability

The Ryden commercial warranty is non-transferable — it applies only to the original purchaser whose name is on the order. If you bought a Ryden product second-hand, you still have statutory rights against the original seller; you can also contact us and we'll do what we can to help, but we can't guarantee coverage outside the original purchase.
