The Ryden Single-Speed Chainring is a durable, lightweight chainring engineered for compatible single-speed, fixed-gear, urban, commuter, cruiser, and utility bicycles. Single-speed bicycles are mechanically simple, but that simplicity places greater importance on a few key components, and the front chainring is one of them. Unlike a double or triple drivetrain, there is no front derailleur moving the chain between multiple chainrings. And unlike a narrow-wide MTB ring, there is no need to accommodate a large cassette while controlling chain retention over rough terrain.
The Ryden Single-Speed Chainring is therefore deliberately simple. Its job is to provide smooth chain engagement, accurate chainline, reliable power transfer, and long service life.
The chainring is CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, giving it sufficient stiffness for urban riding while keeping weight low. Its tooth profile is designed specifically for a single-chainring, single-sprocket drivetrain, with no shift ramps or pickup pins because the chain never needs to move laterally at the front.
Separate 1/8" and 3/32" versions let the same product family serve traditional fixed-gear bikes, urban single-speeds, cruisers, and internal-gear-hub bicycles. The default 46T size provides versatile city gearing, but riders can move down to 42T or 44T for easier starts and climbing, or up to 48T and 50T for faster flat-road riding.

Why it is not narrow-wide
Narrow-wide chainrings are primarily designed for 1× derailleur systems, where the chain travels across multiple rear cassette sprockets and the bicycle may experience significant chain movement. A conventional single-speed drivetrain instead uses one front chainring and one rear sprocket with a relatively straight chainline, so it does not need alternating narrow and wide teeth. Its priorities are straight alignment, smooth engagement, a simple tooth shape, wear resistance, and chain-width compatibility.
