Cranksets
Ryden cranksets for road, mountain, city and kids’ bikes, and for mid-drive e-bikes: 2× road doubles including a 50/34T compact, 1× and 2× mountain cranksets, a 1× city/hybrid crankset, youth cranks from 102 mm, and reinforced motor-specific e-bike cranks.
Choosing a crankset
Match your drivetrain
A 1× crankset has one retention chainring and no front derailleur. A 2× crankset has two matched rings with shift ramps and needs a front derailleur, and not every modern mountain bike frame accepts one.
Match your frame
Ryden’s road, mountain and city cranksets use a 24 mm steel spindle, with the bottom bracket sold separately to suit your frame. The kids crankset uses a square-taper bottom bracket, and the e-bike crankset fits the motor’s own spindle.
Choose your crank length
Crank length is a fit decision: choose by leg length, bike geometry, riding style and pedal clearance rather than height alone. Shorter cranks add clearance on technical trails.
Choose your gearing
Smaller chainrings make climbing easier; larger rings are faster on flat ground. Then choose the version for the chain speed your drivetrain uses.
Frequently asked questions
Is the bottom bracket included?+
No. Frame bottom-bracket standards differ, so it is sold separately. The road, mountain and city cranksets use a 24 mm spindle, and the kids crankset uses a square-taper bottom bracket.
Which crank length should I choose?+
Choose by bike fit, leg length, frame geometry and riding style rather than height alone. Each crankset’s page explains what its lengths suit.
Can I fit a 2× crankset to any mountain bike?+
No. Many modern frames are designed for 1× only, with no front derailleur mount or limited chainstay clearance. Check that your frame supports a front derailleur and two chainrings first.
Will a regular crankset fit my e-bike?+
Not on a mid-drive e-bike, where the cranks attach to the motor’s spindle. The Ryden E-Bike Crankset comes in versions for selected Bosch, Shimano, Yamaha and Brose motors.
What warranty do Ryden cranksets have?+
A 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, as for all Ryden drivetrain components. Wear, such as worn chainring teeth, is not covered.
