Ryden 10-Speed Cassette – Performance 11–36T Bicycle Cassette
The Ryden 10-Speed Cassette is a precision-shifting rear cassette engineered for compatible 10-speed road, gravel, mountain, hybrid, touring, fitness, and commuter drivetrains. Featuring hardened steel sprockets, an aluminum spider for the largest sprockets, Ryden SmoothShift 10 tooth profiling, a corrosion-resistant finish, and a versatile 11–36T range, it balances durability, climbing capability, smooth gear progression, and performance. It uses a conventional Shimano HG-style freehub interface, pairs naturally with the Ryden 10-Speed Chain, and is also available in 11–28T Road and 11–32T All-Road versions.

Broad range, precise shifting, dependable durability, sensible weight
A 327% gear range combines an 11T high gear with a substantially easier 36T climbing sprocket.
Advanced ramps, pickup teeth, and release profiles support faster and more controlled indexed shifting across all ten sprockets.
Heat-treated steel provides strong wear resistance for road, gravel, MTB, commuter, and touring applications.
The largest sprockets are supported by a lightweight aluminum spider, helping reduce weight while distributing load across the freehub body.
Designed for widely used Shimano HG-type cassette freehubs, making it suitable for a broad range of conventional 10-speed bicycles.
The Ryden 10-Speed Cassette marks the transition from Ryden’s everyday drivetrain components into its more performance-focused cassette range. Ten rear sprockets allow riders to combine a broad overall gear range with smaller jumps between many of the gears they use most frequently.
The standard 11–36T configuration provides approximately 327% total range, making it particularly useful for bicycles that need to perform across flat roads, rolling terrain, and steeper climbs. At the high end, the 11T sprocket provides useful speed for road riding and descents; at the opposite end, the 36T sprocket significantly reduces climbing effort compared with narrower-range cassettes.
Ryden SmoothShift 10 technology uses strategically coordinated tooth shapes and shift ramps to guide the chain between adjacent sprockets with greater precision than Ryden’s lower-speed cassettes.
Hardened steel is used for the primary sprockets to provide dependable durability. The larger sprockets are grouped around an aluminum support spider, reducing unnecessary weight while helping distribute pedaling forces more evenly across the freehub body. A corrosion-resistant metallic finish helps protect the cassette from normal exposure to moisture, road spray, and environmental contamination.
The result is a cassette for riders who want broad range, precise shifting, dependable durability, and sensible weight.
Ryden SmoothShift 10
- Coordinated shift ramps
- Ramps on adjacent sprockets are positioned to work together during shifts.
- Sculpted pickup teeth
- Selected teeth help lift the chain toward larger sprockets.
- Controlled release points
- Allow the chain to disengage cleanly when shifting toward smaller sprockets.
- Multi-level tooth profiling
- Different tooth shapes are used according to their specific role during chain transitions.
- Precision sprocket spacing
- Accurate spacing is essential for reliable 10-speed indexing.
- Tight runout control
- Manufacturing tolerances minimize lateral sprocket movement that could affect shifting accuracy.
Ryden LoadSpread 7075 alloy spider
The largest sprockets are mounted onto a 7075 aluminum spider. Benefits include:
- •Reduced overall cassette weight
- •Improved structural support
- •Load distribution across more freehub splines
- •Fewer individual loose sprockets
What's in the box

Questions about this product (15)
A (Ryden team): It has 10 rear sprockets.
What is the standard range?+
The main version uses 11–36T gearing.
What other ranges are available?+
11–28T Road and 11–32T All-Road versions are also available.
Which version should I choose?+
Choose 11–28T for close road gearing, 11–32T for mixed road and commuting, and 11–36T for climbing, MTB, gravel, or wide-range riding.
What chain should I use?+
The recommended pairing is the Ryden 10-Speed Chain.
Can I use it with a 1×10 drivetrain?+
Yes. The 11–36T version is particularly well suited to 1×10 configurations.
Can I use it with 2×10?+
Yes, if the rear derailleur has sufficient sprocket and total capacity.
Does it fit a threaded freewheel hub?+
No. It requires a compatible splined cassette freehub.
Which freehub does it use?+
It uses a Shimano HG-style interface.
Will it fit every HG freehub?+
Not necessarily: freehub length and spacer requirements vary. If you’re unsure, contact us before ordering.
Is the lockring included?+
Yes.
Will any 10-speed derailleur work with the 36T sprocket?+
No. The derailleur must support a largest sprocket of at least 36T.
Can I use it on an 11-speed drivetrain?+
No. Use the Ryden 11-Speed Cassette.
Why does the 10-speed model use an aluminum spider?+
It reduces weight and helps distribute loads across the freehub body while supporting the larger sprockets.
When should I replace the cassette?+
Replacement is appropriate when significant tooth wear, damage, or chain skipping remains after installing and correctly setting up a compatible new chain.
