Precision where you need it. Range where you want it.
Tighter sprocket spacing and carefully controlled tolerances support accurate shifting across modern 11-speed drivetrains.
Advanced pickup teeth, release profiles, and synchronized shift ramps help guide the chain quickly and consistently between sprockets.
Heat-treated steel provides the durability required for road, gravel, touring, fitness, and high-mileage riding.
The largest sprockets are supported by a lightweight alloy spider that reduces weight and spreads drivetrain loads across the freehub.
Close-ratio road, endurance, all-road, and wide-range MTB configurations allow riders to select gearing based on terrain rather than simply speed count.
The Ryden 11-Speed Cassette takes the Ryden cassette family into a higher level of drivetrain precision. With eleven rear sprockets occupying a relatively compact space, consistent sprocket thickness, spacing, alignment, and tooth profiling become increasingly important, so the cassette moves beyond the simpler all-steel architecture of Ryden’s lower-speed products.
Hardened steel sprockets provide dependable wear resistance, while the largest sprockets are supported by a lightweight 7075 aluminum spider. This reduces unnecessary mass while improving load distribution across the freehub body.
Ryden SmoothShift 11 uses coordinated ramps and specially shaped teeth to control how the chain enters and leaves each sprocket during indexed shifting.
The default 11–34T All-Road configuration provides a useful combination of closely spaced cruising gears and a substantially easier climbing gear. For riders who prioritize road cadence, there are narrower 11–28T and 11–32T versions; for mountain and adventure riders, the 11–42T Wide Range version dramatically increases climbing capability.
This makes the 11-Speed Cassette a true performance family rather than one fixed ratio: precision where you need it, range where you want it.
Ryden SmoothShift 11
- Synchronized shift gates
- Adjacent sprockets use coordinated ramp locations so the chain transitions at controlled points.
- Sculpted pickup teeth
- Special teeth assist the chain in climbing onto larger sprockets.
- Release teeth
- Selected profiles help the chain disengage cleanly when moving toward smaller gears.
- Multi-angle chamfering
- Tooth edges are shaped to better guide a narrow 11-speed chain during lateral movement.
- Controlled sprocket runout
- Tight manufacturing tolerances reduce side-to-side variation.
- Precision spacing
- Consistent spacer thickness supports accurate indexed shifting throughout the cassette.
Ryden LoadSpread 7075 spider
Rather than mounting every large steel sprocket independently onto the freehub, several larger sprockets are carried by an aluminum structure. Benefits:
- •Reduced weight
- •Better load distribution
- •Reduced freehub spline loading
- •Increased cassette rigidity
- •Cleaner construction
What's in the box
- •Ryden 11-Speed Cassette (in the range you choose)

Questions about this product (15)
A (Ryden team): It has 11 rear sprockets.
What is the standard Ryden configuration?+
The default version uses an 11–34T range.
What other ranges are available?+
11–28T Road Race, 11–32T Road Endurance, and 11–42T MTB Wide Range versions are also available.
Which cassette is best for road racing?+
The 11–28T version provides the smallest jumps between many gears.
Which one is best for endurance road riding?+
The 11–32T version.
Which one is best for gravel?+
The 11–34T All-Road cassette is the strongest general-purpose choice.
Which one is best for MTB?+
The 11–42T Wide Range model.
What chain should I use?+
Use the Ryden 11-Speed Chain or another compatible 11-speed chain.
Can I use it on a 10-speed drivetrain?+
No. Use the dedicated Ryden 10-Speed Cassette.
Will it fit every Shimano HG-style freehub?+
Not necessarily. Road and MTB 11-speed cassette and freehub dimensions can differ, so contact us before ordering if you’re unsure.
Does it fit an XD or XDR freehub?+
The standard HG version does not.
Does it include a lockring?+
Yes. A matching lockring is included.
Can I use 11–42T with any 11-speed derailleur?+
No. The derailleur must support a 42T largest sprocket and appropriate total capacity.
Why does the cassette use an aluminum spider?+
It lowers weight, increases support for the larger sprockets, and distributes loads across the freehub body.
When should I replace the cassette?+
Replace it when sprocket wear or physical damage causes unreliable chain engagement, especially if a correctly installed new chain skips on worn gears.
