Reliable everyday shifting without unnecessary complexity
A practical range provides both an 11-tooth high gear for faster riding and a 32-tooth low gear for hills and everyday commuting.
Heat-treated steel sprockets provide dependable durability for high-mileage commuting, recreational riding, and general-purpose cycling.
Strategically shaped teeth and shift ramps support smooth movement between all eight cassette sprockets.
Designed around the widely used Shimano HG-type splined freehub interface found on many 8-speed bicycles.
A protective metallic surface treatment helps reduce oxidation caused by moisture, road spray, and regular outdoor use.
The Ryden 8-Speed Cassette is designed as a reliable replacement or drivetrain upgrade for bicycles using a conventional 8-speed cassette system.
Unlike a threaded freewheel, a cassette does not contain its own ratchet mechanism. Instead, the sprockets slide onto a splined freehub body, while the coasting mechanism remains inside the rear hub. This architecture is widely used because it provides a secure sprocket interface, easier cassette replacement, and better support for a wider range of modern drivetrain configurations.
The standard 11–32T range gives riders significantly more gearing versatility than traditional narrow-range systems. The 11T smallest sprocket provides a useful high gear for road speed, while the 32T largest sprocket reduces pedaling effort on hills.
Each sprocket is manufactured from hardened steel and uses Ryden SmoothShift 8 tooth profiling, designed to improve chain pickup and release as the derailleur moves the chain between gears. The sprockets receive a corrosion-resistant finish, and the complete cassette is secured to the freehub using the included lockring.
For riders living in hillier areas, an 11–34T Wide Range version is also available. The result is a versatile, affordable cassette designed around one goal: reliable everyday shifting without unnecessary complexity.
