Built to go beyond pavement
The Ryden Gravel Pro is engineered for riders who refuse to be limited by pavement. Whether you are tackling remote gravel roads, exploring forest trails, commuting during the week, or setting off on multi-day bikepacking adventures, the Gravel Pro is built to perform.
Its lightweight carbon frame combines endurance-focused adventure geometry with responsive handling, comfortable over long distances while staying efficient on smooth roads. The full carbon fork further reduces vibration and sharpens steering across rough terrain, and its triple-cage mounts add cargo capacity for long trips.
The Shimano GRX 820 1x12 drivetrain is purpose-built for gravel: wide-range gearing, reliable shifting, and excellent chain security on bumpy roads. Paired here with a wide-range cassette for low climbing gears, it is ready for loaded climbs and fast descents alike. Hydraulic disc brakes provide consistent stopping power in any weather or terrain.
The tubeless-ready carbon wheelset is fitted with 700x45C gravel tyres that roll efficiently on asphalt while delivering strong traction on gravel, dirt, and loose surfaces, and you can fit tyres up to 50mm for even more comfort and off-road capability. A flared gravel handlebar widens at the drops for extra control and stability on rough ground.
Mounting points throughout the frame and fork take frame bags, cargo cages, bottle cages, rear racks, and mudguards, making the Gravel Pro equally capable for commuting, endurance rides, and fully loaded bikepacking expeditions.
Where it fits in the Ryden range: the Gravel Pro is our race-focused 1x carbon gravel bike. It shares its T800 carbon frame, carbon fork, and carbon wheels with the Explorer, our 2x endurance model; the difference is drivetrain philosophy. The Gravel Pro runs a simpler, lighter 1x drivetrain (a single chainring with a wide-range cassette) tuned for gravel racing and simplicity, while the Explorer runs a 2x drivetrain for a wider, closer-spaced gear range suited to endurance and loaded touring, adds a full carbon cockpit, and is a touch lighter (8.4 kg vs 8.9 kg). Choose the Gravel Pro for a simple, race-focused 1x gravel bike; choose the Explorer for a 2x endurance machine. Below both sit our alloy gravel bikes, the value Pathfinder, the all-round Adventure, and the heavy-touring Expedition, for accessible and touring gravel. Whichever you pick, it is a drop-bar, mixed-surface machine that bridges road and off-road: for pure-pavement speed see our road bikes, for technical off-road trails see our mountain bikes, and for upright, flat-bar city and fitness riding see our hybrid and city bikes.

Questions about this product (13)
A (Ryden team): The Gravel Pro is ideal for adventure cyclists, endurance riders, commuters, bikepackers, and anyone who enjoys riding on both paved and unpaved roads. It is our race-focused 1x carbon gravel bike: a drop-bar machine for fast mixed-surface riding.
How is it different from the Ryden Explorer?+
They share the same T800 carbon frame, carbon fork, and carbon wheels; the difference is drivetrain philosophy. The Gravel Pro runs a simpler, lighter 1x drivetrain (a single chainring with a wide-range cassette) tuned for gravel racing and simplicity. The Explorer runs a 2x drivetrain (a 48/31T double with a close-ratio cassette) for a wider, closer-spaced gear range suited to endurance riding and loaded touring, adds a full carbon cockpit, and is a touch lighter (8.4 kg vs 8.9 kg). Choose the Gravel Pro for a simple, race-focused 1x bike; choose the Explorer for a 2x endurance machine. It is a choice of riding style, not a simple better/worse.
What is a gravel bike?+
A gravel bike combines the speed of a road bike with wider tyres, relaxed geometry, disc brakes, and extra cargo mounts, letting you comfortably tackle asphalt, gravel roads, forest tracks, and light trails. It is one of the most versatile bike types: fast on road, capable off it.
Can I ride the Gravel Pro on normal roads?+
Absolutely. It performs very well on pavement while staying capable on gravel, dirt roads, and mixed terrain. At 8.9 kg with efficient geometry, it is genuinely quick on the road, not just off it.
Is it suitable for bikepacking?+
Yes. The frame and fork include multiple mounting points for frame bags, cargo cages, rear racks, mudguards, and extra bottle cages, making it well suited to multi-day, loaded adventures. For heavily loaded trips, consider total system weight (rider plus cargo) alongside the 130 kg rider limit.
How is it different from a road bike?+
Both are drop-bar bikes, but the Gravel Pro is built for mixed surfaces: wider 45C tyres (with 50mm clearance), a purpose-built GRX gravel groupset, more relaxed adventure geometry, and cargo mounts for bikepacking. A road bike is optimised for pavement speed; the Gravel Pro trades a little on-road speed for genuine off-road capability and load-carrying. If you will ride mostly pavement, see our road bikes; if you want to explore mixed surfaces, the Gravel Pro is the one.
How is it different from a mountain bike?+
A mountain bike is built for technical off-road trails, rougher terrain, obstacles, and descents, with flat bars and often suspension. The Gravel Pro is a drop-bar bike built for covering distance efficiently across gravel roads, forest tracks, and light trails, at closer to road-bike speed. For technical singletrack, our mountain bikes are the right tool; for fast mixed-surface adventure and bikepacking, the Gravel Pro is.
Why does it use Shimano GRX instead of Shimano 105?+
Shimano GRX is engineered specifically for gravel, with lower gearing, improved chain retention, and ergonomics designed for rough terrain. It is the gravel-specific equivalent of a road groupset like 105, better suited to loose surfaces and loaded riding.
Can I install wider tyres?+
Yes. The frame supports tyres up to 700x50C, so you can tailor the bike for more technical gravel routes or extra comfort. It ships with 700x45C gravel tyres.
Is it suitable for racing?+
Yes. The lightweight carbon frame, efficient geometry, and premium GRX components make it well suited to gravel races, endurance events, and adventure competitions, as well as bikepacking and touring.
How much assembly is required?+
The bike arrives approximately 90% assembled. Final installation of the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, and seatpost is required, typically 30 to 60 minutes for someone comfortable with basic bike mechanics. Tools and instructions are included.
What warranty is included?+
Lifetime warranty on the carbon frame, 5-year warranty on the carbon fork, 2-year warranty on components (drivetrain, brakes), and a 2-year warranty on the carbon wheelset. Full terms in our Warranty Policy.
Why should I choose the Ryden Gravel Pro?+
It is built for riders who want one bike for nearly any terrain. Its lightweight carbon frame, Shimano GRX 1x12 drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, tubeless-ready wheels, and generous tyre clearance give you road-bike speed with the confidence and versatility for gravel adventures, endurance rides, and bikepacking, the race-focused 1x bike in our gravel range.
