Race performance, adventure capability

The Ryden Terra represents the balance between race performance and adventure capability. Whether you are lining up at a gravel race, riding centuries on country roads, or exploring remote backroads, the Terra delivers exceptional efficiency without sacrificing comfort.

Its advanced Toray T1000 carbon frame, our highest-grade carbon, is engineered with endurance-focused geometry that minimises fatigue while keeping handling agile and power transfer efficient. Internal cable routing keeps the lines clean and reduces maintenance.

The headline feature: the Terra runs Shimano’s premium GRX 820 Di2 electronic groupset. Electronic shifting delivers fast, precise, consistent gear changes at the push of a button, with excellent reliability on rough terrain and minimal maintenance; you are not adjusting cables, and shifts stay crisp ride after ride. The 2x12 drivetrain (a 48/31T double crankset with a close-ratio 11-36T cassette) offers closely spaced gears for smooth road riding while keeping the range for steep gravel climbs.

The lightweight carbon wheelset (38mm deep rims) is paired with premium 700x45C tubeless-ready gravel tyres for traction on gravel, dirt, forest roads, and pavement, and the frame accepts tyres up to 50mm for more technical terrain. An integrated carbon cockpit and carbon aero seatpost keep the front end clean and add vibration damping.

Multiple integrated mounting points take bottle cages, frame bags, top-tube bags, rear racks, and mudguards, so the Terra works as a race bike or a fully loaded bikepacking machine.

Where it fits in the Ryden range: the Terra is our performance halo gravel bike, the lightest (8.1 kg), highest-specced gravel model, and the only one with electronic shifting. It shares the Explorer’s 2x gearing layout (the same 48/31T crankset and 11-36T cassette) but steps up to Shimano GRX Di2 electronic shifting, a higher-grade T1000 carbon frame, an integrated carbon cockpit, and lower weight. Think of it this way: the Explorer is our 2x endurance bike with mechanical shifting; the Terra is the same 2x approach taken to the highest performance tier, with electronic shifting and the lightest, most advanced build. Choose the Explorer for a premium mechanical 2x gravel bike; choose the Terra if you want electronic shifting and the lightest, most refined gravel bike we make. Our 1x Gravel Pro is the race-focused single-ring option, and our alloy Pathfinder, Adventure, and Expedition the accessible and touring-focused options; for pure-pavement speed see our road bikes, for technical trails our mountain bikes, and for upright city and fitness riding our hybrid and city bikes.

How is the Terra different from the Explorer?+

They share the same 2x gearing layout (the same 48/31T crankset and 11-36T cassette), so the gear range is the same. The differences are at the top-tier level: the Terra has Shimano GRX Di2 electronic shifting (vs the Explorer’s mechanical shifting), a higher-grade T1000 carbon frame (vs T800), an integrated carbon cockpit, and slightly lower weight (8.1 kg vs 8.4 kg). Choose the Explorer for a premium mechanical 2x gravel bike at a lower price; choose the Terra if you want electronic shifting and the lightest, most refined build. Both ride the same terrain equally well: the Terra is about shifting technology, frame grade, and weight, not extra capability.

Is electronic shifting reliable for gravel riding?+

Yes. Shimano GRX Di2 is built for demanding gravel conditions and delivers fast, consistent shifting with minimal maintenance: no cable adjustment, and crisp shifts ride after ride. It is a wired electronic system with a rechargeable battery; a full charge lasts a long time (typically hundreds of kilometres of riding), and the bike includes a charging cable. It is worth keeping the battery charged before long rides or events.

Can I use the Terra for road riding?+

Absolutely. Its 2x12 drivetrain, light frame, and efficient geometry make it an excellent road bike while keeping full gravel capability. The close-ratio cassette and double crankset are especially good for holding an efficient cadence on pavement.

Is it suitable for gravel racing?+

Yes. Race-ready geometry, lightweight construction, and premium electronic components make it highly competitive in endurance and gravel racing events: it is the most race-performance-focused bike in our gravel range.

Can I install bikepacking bags?+

Yes. The frame and fork include integrated mounting points for frame bags, cargo cages, racks, top-tube bags, and extra bottle cages. For heavily loaded trips, consider total system weight (rider plus cargo) alongside the 130 kg rider limit.

What tyre size can it accommodate?+

It ships with 700x45C tyres and supports tyres up to 700x50C, giving flexibility for different terrain and riding styles.

Does the integrated cockpit affect fit adjustment?+

It is worth knowing that an integrated cockpit (where the stem and bar are a single carbon unit) is cleaner and lighter but less adjustable than a separate bar and stem, so getting the right size matters more. If you are unsure of your size or want fit guidance, contact our support team before ordering.

How much assembly is required?+

The bike arrives approximately 90% assembled. Final installation of the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, and seatpost is required, typically 30 to 60 minutes for someone comfortable with basic bike mechanics. The Di2 system is pre-configured; the battery may need charging before first use. Tools and instructions are included.

What warranty is included?+

Lifetime warranty on the carbon frame, 5-year warranty on the carbon fork, 2-year warranty on Shimano components (including the Di2 electronic system), and a 2-year warranty on the carbon wheelset. Full terms in our Warranty Policy.

Why should I choose the Ryden Terra?+

It is for riders who want a no-compromise gravel bike for racing, endurance, adventure, and bikepacking. Its ultra-light T1000 carbon frame, GRX 820 Di2 electronic groupset, carbon wheelset, hydraulic disc brakes, and generous tyre clearance deliver speed, comfort, and versatility: the most advanced bike in our gravel range.
