Ryden MTB 1× Crankset – Lightweight Trail & XC Crankset
The Ryden MTB 1× Crankset is a lightweight aluminum crankset engineered for modern single-chainring mountain-bike drivetrains. Featuring hollow-forged crank arms, an integrated 24 mm steel spindle, a replaceable 7075-T6 Ryden ChainLock narrow-wide chainring, and Standard/Boost chainline options, it delivers efficient power transfer, dependable chain retention, and simple 1× performance for XC, trail, all-mountain, bikepacking, and recreational MTB use. The standard 32T chainring with 170 mm crank arms provides a versatile balance of climbing capability, trail speed, and pedal clearance.
170 mm is the Ryden standard MTB length; shorter cranks add pedal clearance. Choose by bike fit, leg length and riding style rather than height alone.
Standard for non-Boost frames and rear hubs; Boost for frames with wider rear-hub spacing such as 148 mm Boost.
12-speed: selected chain and drivetrain combinations only. Confirm yours with us before ordering.

Simplicity, chain retention, trail durability, practical gearing
No front derailleur, no second chainring, and no unnecessary front-shifting hardware: just a simple, efficient single-ring drivetrain.
Alternating narrow and wide teeth improve chain engagement and retention over rough terrain.
A hollow internal structure reduces weight while retaining stiffness for climbing, sprinting, and technical trail riding.
Separate crankset versions provide better drivetrain alignment across traditional and modern Boost MTB frames.
A durable steel spindle provides a stiff crank-to-bottom-bracket interface and fits multiple frame standards with a compatible 24 mm bottom bracket.
Modern mountain-bike drivetrains increasingly use a single front chainring. Instead of shifting between two or three front rings, riders get all of their gearing from a wide-range rear cassette: fewer controls, fewer components, better chain management, and simpler maintenance.
The Ryden MTB 1× Crankset is designed around this architecture. Its hollow-forged aluminum crank arms balance low weight and structural stiffness, while the integrated 24 mm steel spindle transmits rider input through the bottom bracket.
At the front, the crankset uses a replaceable, spider-mounted Ryden ChainLock narrow-wide chainring. The alternating tooth profile matches the alternating internal widths of the chain, helping reduce unwanted lateral chain movement as the bike travels over roots, rocks, drops, and rough terrain.
The standard 32T ring is a strong all-round choice and works especially well with wide-range MTB cassettes such as 11–46T, 11–50T, or 10–52T. Separate Standard and Boost chainline versions help keep the chainring properly aligned with the cassette.
The result is a crankset built around simplicity, chain retention, trail durability, and practical gearing.
Ryden HollowForm MTB arms
The arm profile is broader and slightly more impact-oriented than the road crankset’s, with a clean, slightly angular modern MTB look. Its design priorities:
- •Torsional stiffness
- •Pedaling efficiency
- •Rock-strike durability
- •Lower mass than solid arms
- •Reinforced pedal-eye region
- •Reinforced spindle interface
Ryden ChainLock narrow-wide chainring
The included ring uses the same core technology as the Ryden Narrow-Wide Chainring:
- Alternating narrow/wide teeth
- Improve chain engagement.
- Extended tooth profile
- Provides additional chain retention.
- Mud-release channels
- Let contamination clear more easily.
- Reinforced tooth roots
- Improve durability under repeated load.
- 7075-T6 construction
- Keeps the ring stiff and lightweight.
Spider-mounted ring
A conventional spider-mounted chainring gives this crankset:
- •Easy ring replacement
- •Lower replacement-ring cost
- •Broad serviceability
- •A choice of Ryden tooth counts
