A premium hardtail that does it all
The Ryden Hardtail Series is built for riders who appreciate simplicity without sacrificing performance. Designed as an all-around mountain bike, it combines efficient pedalling with modern trail capability, making it equally at home on flowing singletrack, gravel roads, forest trails, and weekend adventures.
Its hydroformed aluminium frame features progressive trail geometry: a slack head angle for improved descending stability and a steep seat tube angle for efficient climbing. Internal cable routing keeps the bike looking clean while protecting cables from dirt and debris.
A 130mm RockShox Judy Silver air fork absorbs roots, rocks, and rough terrain while letting you fine-tune suspension performance to your weight and riding style. Shimano’s proven Deore 1x12 drivetrain delivers reliable shifting across a wide gear range, and Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes provide confident stopping power in all conditions.
The tubeless-ready wheelset, internal dropper-post routing, and Boost axle spacing make the Hardtail Series an excellent platform for future upgrades. Whether you are building trail skills, riding local singletrack, or looking for an efficient mountain bike that needs minimal maintenance, it is ready for every ride.
Where it fits in the Ryden hardtail range: the Hardtail Series sits at the top of our alloy trail-hardtail line, above the Trail 100 and Trail 200. It steps up from the Trail 200 with a RockShox air fork (130mm vs the Trail 200’s SR Suntour 120mm), a Shimano Deore drivetrain (vs CUES), and upgraded Deore brakes with a larger rear rotor, for riders who want the most capable, best-equipped aluminium hardtail in the range. If you want a lighter, race-focused bike, our carbon XC Pro is the step up in a different direction (carbon, race geometry, 100mm); if you want rear suspension for rougher terrain, our All Mountain adds full suspension.

Questions about this product (10)
A (Ryden team): It is designed for riders seeking one versatile mountain bike for trail riding, fitness, commuting, gravel adventures, and weekend exploration. It is our premium alloy trail hardtail: capable, efficient, and low-maintenance.
What is a hardtail mountain bike?+
A hardtail mountain bike has front suspension but no rear suspension. This design reduces weight, lowers maintenance, and improves pedalling efficiency while still providing excellent off-road capability. It is a great choice for riders who value simplicity and a direct, efficient ride.
How is it different from the Ryden Trail 200?+
The Hardtail Series is the more premium model and sits one step above the Trail 200 in our alloy hardtail line. It upgrades to a RockShox Judy air fork with more travel (130mm vs the Trail 200's SR Suntour 120mm), a Shimano Deore 1x12 drivetrain (vs CUES), and Shimano Deore brakes with a larger 180mm rear rotor (vs the Trail 200's 160mm). It is also marginally lighter overall (12.5 kg vs 12.7 kg). Choose the Trail 200 for excellent value in a capable trail hardtail; choose the Hardtail Series for the best-equipped, most refined aluminium hardtail in the range.
Is it suitable for technical trails?+
Yes. The 130mm air fork, modern trail geometry, and hydraulic disc brakes let it confidently handle flowing singletrack, rocky trails, and moderate technical terrain. For more aggressive technical terrain and descending, our full-suspension All Mountain or Enduro X would be more capable.
Can I install a dropper seatpost?+
Yes. The frame includes full internal routing for a dropper seatpost, one of the most worthwhile trail upgrades, letting you drop the saddle for descents at the push of a lever.
Is it tubeless compatible?+
Yes. Both the wheels and the Maxxis Rekon tyres are tubeless-ready, letting you run lower pressures for better traction and fewer punctures.
Why choose a hardtail instead of a full-suspension bike?+
Hardtails are generally lighter, more affordable, easier to maintain, and pedal more efficiently, an excellent choice for riders who value simplicity and versatility. If you ride rougher, more technical descending terrain where rear suspension helps, our All Mountain or Enduro X add full suspension.
How much assembly is required?+
The bike arrives approximately 90% assembled. Final installation of the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, and seatpost is required, typically 30 to 60 minutes for someone comfortable with basic bike mechanics. Tools and instructions are included.
What warranty is included?+
Lifetime warranty on the aluminium frame, 2-year warranty on the suspension fork, and 2-year warranty on components. The air fork needs periodic servicing per the manufacturer’s schedule to keep its warranty valid. Full terms in our Warranty Policy.
Why should I choose the Ryden Hardtail Series?+
It is the ideal choice for riders who want a premium hardtail that performs across a wide range of riding styles. Its lightweight frame, 130mm RockShox air suspension, Shimano Deore drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, modern geometry, and upgrade-friendly design make it equally suited to trail riding, cross-country adventures, fitness rides, and everyday exploration.
